Diann L. Nelson-Houser, ARNP, CNP

♥ Diann graduated summa cum laude from Otterbein University with both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees and is accredited by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners with a specialty in Family Practice. With over 40 years of experience—spanning ICUs, ERs, nursing homes, home care, and primary care—Diann brings deep expertise and compassion to every patient interaction.
♥ Inspired by her firsthand experience with our broken healthcare system, Diann co-founded Affordable Care Health Clinic with the mission to simplify access to care. By removing the barriers of corporate healthcare and insurance red tape, she is able to prioritize meaningful, individualized treatment. Diann is known for her sharp diagnostic skills and responsible prescribing, and her patients consistently describe her as a compassionate listener and trusted partner in their health journey.
ADVOCATE, EDUCATOR, LEADER
♥ Diann is a passionate advocate for healthcare reform, championing the right to accessible, affordable care for everyone—regardless of their age, race, religion, sexual orientation, citizenship status, or financial situation. She is particularly dedicated to caring for immigrant families and is actively learning Spanish to better serve our Spanish-speaking patients.
♥ As past president of the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses, Diann has been active in legislative and policymaking efforts at the state level. A devoted mentor, she has taught and precepted advanced practice nursing students from The Ohio State University, Case Western Reserve University, Ohio University, University of Cincinnati, Cedarville University, and her alma mater, Otterbein University.

♥ Diann was born and raised in Chicago, IL, but has called the Columbus area home since her early 20’s. When she’s not caring for patients, you can find her boating, fishing, hiking with her dogs, cooking for friends, or spending time with her family. She’s an unwavering optimist—with a contagious, boisterous laugh—and an avid Chicago Cubs fan, who also enjoys watching football and hockey.
♥ Diann’s greatest pride and joy are her two children, Amelia and John. A close second is her 2013 Harley Davidson Road King Classic, which she loves taking for long, scenic rides on back-country roads or cruising around Gahanna!
